Finca Cruz Parainema Microlot (Josue Cruz)

A full-circle coffee moment. This is more than just a microlot - it’s grown by my childhood friend (and now coffee farmer) Josue Cruz!

Josue Cruz and I were classmates in 5th and 6th grade in Catacamas, Honduras (can you spot us in the photo? 😄). Who would’ve guessed that decades later, we’d reconnect, this time as partners, bringing you a truly special Honduran coffee? 

This Parainema variety is the result of generations of dedication. Josue’s grandfather planted the first coffee seeds over 50 years ago, and today, Josue continues the legacy with pride and expertise. 

We visited his farm, Finca Cruz, earlier this year, and were blown away by the quality of his process and the integrity behind every step. This marks our first direct trade collaboration, and we’re honored to bring his work straight to your cup.

Parainema is a Honduran variety, rarely found outside the country - making this a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Our hope is to grow this partnership so that, by next year, Josue’s coffees become a core part of our lineup.

Coffee has been in Josue Cruz’s family for generations. His grandfather planted the first coffee seeds in 1970. Today, Josue carries on the family business with passion, pride, and expertise. Finca Cruz is located in Catacamas, Honduras. Catacamas is a city with a population of 63,310, and a municipality in the Olancho Department of Honduras. 

Finca Cruz cultivates certified organic coffee and 3 varieties of coffee: Parainema, Catuai and Geisha.
